About Tony Norton

Tony has been a trusted member of the ML team for over two decades. He is an experienced business developer and negotiator, particularly skilled at engaging buyers with different responsibilities, priorities, and levels of seniority. He understands that earning an operational leader's attention may require a very different conversation than one that resonates with a Fortune 1000 executive. Rather than relying on a rigid script, Tony adapts his approach, so every interaction feels credible, relevant and natural.

A Research-Informed Sales Style That Gets People Talking

Research is an increasingly important part of Tony’s role. Before outreach begins, he studies the client’s business, target accounts, buyer roles and market context so he can enter each conversation with informed questions rather than assumptions. During outreach, he listens for the reasons behind a prospect’s response: what is changing, how decisions are made and where needs or objections are emerging. He brings those findings back to the campaign team to help refine targeting, messaging and next steps. This reflects ML’s belief that strong market conversations should create both opportunities and decision-ready intelligence.

Tony’s approach lets him move beyond a surface-level introduction and have the kind of substantive discussion that builds trust, uncovers useful intelligence, and gives a prospect a compelling reason to continue the conversation.

Adapting to the Buyer and Becoming Part of the Client’s Team

Tony knows successful sales development isn't about delivering the same message to every prospect. It is about understanding who the buyer is, what responsibilities they carry, and what kind of business conversation will earn their attention.

He says, “I find myself changing my personality slightly depending on the contact we are trying to reach, whether it is the fleet manager responsible for 50 delivery trucks or someone in the C-suite of a Fortune 1000 company.”

That adaptability allows Tony to comfortably move between audiences, industries, and complex offerings while representing each client with confidence and credibility. His research before and throughout a campaign strengthens this, giving him a clearer view of the account, the buying committee, and the market context. He does some of his strongest work when he is given the context, access, and trust needed to operate as a true extension of a client’s sales organization.

Client-Powered Praise

“Tony is a talented salesperson, and it made me want to schedule the meeting we are having. He was a grown-up. He had a sophisticated sales style, a nice way of conversing and asked the right questions.”

“I’ll talk you guys up all I can over here, as long as you promise to assign Tony Norton to me!”
