We are currently seeking a Director of Sales to lead a team of seasoned Sales Development Representatives, who are charged with the front end of the sales cycle for our clients. In addition to leading the Specialist team, the Director of Sales is responsible for our efforts to acquire net new clients through our Marketlauncher new business channel. The ideal candidate will join our company’s leadership team and help us take our growing firm and sales team to the next level.

Our team of Sales Development Representatives are responsible for providing strategic outbound services to pre-qualify leads at the top of the sales funnel. We work with clients across a range of technology and professional services and our team specializes in pre-qualifying and setting meetings with executive-level buyers in B2B.

Our business model is designed to attract seasoned professionals looking for an opportunity to leverage their talent in a flexible environment. Our team is fully remote and most of our SDRs have 15 to 20 years of prior consultative sales experience before joining Marketlauncher and the average tenure on the team is over 8 years. The Director will be responsible for leading this highly skilled team remotely and will provide continuous coaching, training, mentoring and motivating to achieve client account goals. The Director will monitor sales metrics and be accountable for the success of the sales development team.

In addition to leading the Specialist team focused on client accounts, the Director will lead the Marketlauncher New Business team and be responsible for our program to acquire net new clients. In addition to leadership, your role on the team will include completing discovery calls with prospects booked for you by the New Business team, converting to proposal stage, managing all follow-up activity through to closing and managing preparation strategy for onboarding.

You will be responsible for providing sound advice to senior management, collaborate with other members of management and able to thrive working in a team environment with a strong emphasis on achieving success across all client programs and our internal growth goals. You will be accountable for building and retaining a high-performance team to ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA required, degree in Business preferred
  • 7+ years of Sales Management experience managing and growing a sales development rep team for B2B complex sales (preferably in tech industry)
  • 7+ years’ experience prospecting and building a net new business pipeline
  • Experience and success as both an individual lead development contributor and sales leader
  • Excellent presentation and listening skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple internal leaders, cross function teammates and C-level client contacts
  • Must have experience and be able to thrive and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills, including CRM (preferably HubSpot) and Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, video conferencing
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and motivate a team.
  • Proven ability to close performance gaps
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Proven ability to successfully provide relevant and immediate feedback in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate ability to take ownership and accountability

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for oversight and support of the sales development team
  • Coach, develop, mentor and motivate the sales team, who are charged with the front end of the sales cycle for a variety of clients, to maximize their personal performance
  • Share best practices across the account teams; innovate on new ways to engage high level executive buyers
  • Work closely with leadership on identifying training needs and oversee facilitation of those needs
  • Onboarding for new sales development team hires
  • Conduct formal employee performance evaluations
  • Lead effective team meetings, one on one’s, and group trainings
  • Build an open-communication environment for your team
  • Hold your team accountable to ensure they are accurately relaying each client’s marketing message and value proposition and maintain high standards for prequalification of leads
  • Identify specific strengths for SDR team members and recommend client account assignments based on the best fit
  • Build relationships and attend virtual meetings with potential and existing clients
  • Ensure the team is meeting client account goals
  • Plan and deliver monthly, quarterly and annual initiatives
  • Manage the Marketlauncher New Business program and team
  • Leading discovery calls with prospects booked for you by the New Business team
  • Manage all New Business follow-up activity through to closing
  • Managing preparation strategy for onboarding new clients
  • Report needs to senior management by analyzing data and trends
  • Report and implement improvements for sales metrics to hit deliverables
  • Work closely with Operations and Client Service departments

  • Experience and leadership with top-of-funnel, inside sales in a complex sale targeting sophisticated buyers
  • Experience and leadership with full cycle sales targeting c-suite decision makers
  • Sales professional and leader with experience as an individual contributor that leads by example
  • Able to empathize with, inspire and relate to a diverse, seasoned workforce and client base
  • Demonstrates ability to implement and train sales teams in strategic selling techniques
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to coach, develop and motivate a team
  • Experience analyzing metrics
  • Critical time management skills and personal judgment
  • Experience and interest in helping others grow and change
  • Familiarity collaborating through the use of Microsoft Teams or similar and use of CRM
